Four people die, 5 rescued as Another building collapses in Lagos

News

Four construction workers were killed, while five others were rescued as another building collapsed in Lagos on Wednesday.

The building, which was still under construction, fell in the Magbon, Badagry area of Lagos, the Lagos State Fire Service confirmed.

On November 1, a 21-story building still under construction collapsed with many workers and visitors, including the owner, trapped under it. At the last count, 44 people were said to have been killed in that tragedy, with about 15 people rescued alive.

Five others were rescued from the rubbles with varying degrees of injury, while efforts are still on to rescue others, the agency said.

Mrs Margret Adeseye, the Director of Lagos State Fire Service, has confirmed the incident, saying that officials of the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, Bacary station, raced down to the scene of the accident once they received the distress call.
